Working Principle

  • Immersed into molten aluminum (1,300–1,400°C) within electrolytic cells

  • Utilizes ‌siphon effect‌ to transfer molten aluminum into ladles

  • Must withstand:

    • Extreme thermal shock (repeated heating/cooling cycles)

    • Corrosive fluoride electrolytes

    • High-velocity erosion from molten metal

Material & Construction

Two-Part Integrated Design:

  1. Upper Section:‌ Carbon steel pipe

  2. Lower Section:‌ Hard alloy overlay pipe

    • Fabricated via ‌hardfacing welding‌ (D802, YD856, or equivalent hard alloy electrodes)

    • Critical feature:‌ Length exceeds electrolytic cell height for full immersion
