Product Overview
- The copper mold tube is one of the most important components of a continuous casting machine.
- It is used to solidify molten metal during the production of steel billets.
- The copper mold tube is located at the center of the continuous casting machine.
- It requires excellent thermal conductivity and high mechanical strength.
- After molten steel passes through the copper mold tube, it quickly forms a billet with the required shape.
1. Working Process
- Molten metal is poured from the furnace into a ladle.
- The metal is transferred from the ladle through a refractory shroud into a tundish.
- The metal then flows from the tundish into the top of the open copper mold tube.
- The copper mold tube guides initial solidification and helps form the cast billet.
2. Main Material
- The main material is copper alloy.
- Common material: deoxidized phosphorus copper TP2.
- Another common option: silver-bearing copper CuAg.
3. Available Types

- Packed in wooden cases.

- The service performance of a copper mold tube is not calculated simply by the number of uses or years of operation.
- It mainly depends on steel throughput, namely how many tons of molten steel can pass through one copper mold tube.
- Many factors affect steel throughput, and product quality is only one part of the overall performance.
- Dimensions, wall thickness, matching accuracy, continuous caster operating conditions, cooling performance and taper design may all influence actual performance.
- Therefore, we do not provide a guaranteed steel throughput.
- Besides copper mold tubes, we can also supply related products such as mold assemblies, water jackets and other continuous casting components.
